SAA PRESIDENT STEPS DOWN
Vice President Marcus Miller steps into the position of SAA president as Kelley Jo Burke takes leave to be an Animateur for SaskCulture: "As I have accepted a contract as a Community Engagement Animateur for SaskCulture, and in order to avoid even the appearance of conflict of interest, I am stepping down, as SAA president, for the duration of that contract. I am grateful to SAA Vice-President Marcus Miller for his willingness to step into the job during my absence."

If you are part of an arts council, arts organization or venue that hosts visual artists, filmmakers, dancers, writers, musicians, etc. for performances, workshops, readings etc., you can list your venue or presenter organization with a blurb about what kind of art or artists you're willing to host.

CREATIVE SASK UPDATES SCREEN-BASED MEDIA PRODUCTION GRANT GUIDELINES
Creative Saskatchewan has updated their Screen-Based Media Production Grant guidelines.
Previously applicants were required to have majority ownership of the copyright. As is consistent with Telefilm Canada, the new guidelines provide flexibility with regards to the copyright ownership structure allowing for proportional ownership and revenue recoupment in relation to amount of financing put into the project.
AN INSPIRED FUTURE FOR THE ARTS - CANADIAN ARTS SUMMIT 2015

SaskCulture is seeking volunteers for the SaskCulture Board of Directors. SaskCulture strives to build a culturally vibrant future in which all citizens of Saskatchewan individually and collectively, celebrate, value and support participation in and access to cultural experience. Positions to be filled include one year terms in each of Arts, Cultural Industries, Heritage, Member-at Large (2) and Multiculturalism. Elections will be held Jun. 12, 2015 at the SaskCulture Annual General Meeting.

MANN ART GALLERY ACQUIRES SUBSTANTIAL COLLECTION OF NEW ARTWORK
The Mann Art Gallery acquired a substantial collection of artwork by McGregor and Beth Hone. In early March, the Hone family gifted the gallery 1,500 works of art, including paintings, drawings, sculpture, ceramics, prints (including original blocks), and archival material. This generous gift from the Hone family doubles the amount of objects in the Mann’s Permanent.
PRAIRIE WIND & SILVER SAGE INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR SHORT-TERM ARTIST RESIDENCIES
Prairie Wind & Silver Sage – Friends of Grasslands in Val Marie, Saskatchewan near Grasslands National Park, is pleased to invite applications for a number of multi-disciplinary short-term artist residencies in all artist disciplines during the period June 1 – September 30, 2015. Residencies may be for periods of 10 days to four weeks, depending on artist and program schedules. These residencies are intended to ask the question, "How can an artist residency enrich visitor and resident experience of Grasslands National Park, while also enriching the artist's practice?" Submissions received by April 24 will receive first consideration, though later submissions may also be considered.

The Cultural Human Resources Council (CHRC), a partner in the Culture Statistics Strategy Consortium, released its first newsletter, prepared by the Policy Research Group responsible for the Culture Statistics Account (CSA) at Canadian Heritage. The newsletter gives a clear and simplified explanation of the CSA and culture statistics.
